- Surgical volume — avg 4,000 cases per year
- Cytology — approx. 1,000 cases per year
- Hospital setting — privileges required
- Frozen sections and rapid on-site assessments — under 10/week
- Peripheral smears — approx. 5 per week
- Blood bank reviews — less than 1 per week
- General surgical pathology skills required
