Each year, thousands of healthcare professionals choose to take travel assignments rather than settle down into a permanent position. They enjoy the opportunity to see different parts of the country, experience different care settings, and get to know new patients and coworkers.
When it comes to these assignments, traveling therapists (PTs) have plenty of choices. We recently surveyed nearly 1,600 therapists to find out how they learned about open positions and what the facility did to make the assignment a positive experience.

While workers are looking for a professional atmosphere — with a strong organizational culture, consistent onboarding practice, and positive employee recognition — relationships are at the heart of a successful assignment.
Creating a work environment where coworkers and supervisors treat each other with respect, and enjoy working with each other, is key to helping travelers have a good experience at your facility. Happy travelers are not only more productive, but are also more likely to return to your facility for another assignment and to refer a friend.
