Quick Facts

  • Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5 pm (10-hour shifts) plus weekend call
  • 10 – 15 patients per shift — inpatient rounding
  • Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage
  • Call ratio 1:4 — beeper call with 15 – 30 minute response time
  • Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI procedures required
  • Small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills required
  • Ongoing coverage — one week per month plus one weekend call per month
