Quick Facts

  • Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30/5 pm — call required
  • 35 – 50 surgical cases per day
  • 1 – 6 cytologies per day — FNAs, BALs, body fluids, sputums, brushings
  • Hospital setting
  • No cytotechnologist available to screen
  • Frozen sections required — PA on-site until approx. 3 pm
  • Digital pathology — surgical cases read on computer
  • Blood smear review included — no bone marrows
