Clinical Manager Pharmacy
JOB-3362704
An academic-affiliated, not-for-profit community hospital on a scenic New England island is seeking a Director of Pharmacy to lead its pharmacy program. This 100% administrative leadership role (no direct patient care) oversees pharmacy strategy, formulary design, budget management, and regulatory compliance, while leading operational teams across commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare lines of business. The organization is part of one of New England's leading academic health systems, offering the opportunity to combine impactful pharmacy leadership with the lifestyle of one of the region's most sought-after coastal communities.
Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy, and be willing to obtain a Massachusetts pharmacist license prior to starting. A minimum of 8 or more years of fiscal/accounting experience and 5+ years of experience managing pharmacy staff is required, with 3 or more years of pharmacy experience in a managed care setting preferred. Strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to navigate commercial and government payer programs are essential, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.
Set on a beautiful island off the coast of Cape Cod, this community offers a unique year-round and seasonal lifestyle with sandy beaches, charming small towns, and a close-knit island culture — all just a ferry or short flight from the mainland. It's an especially attractive fit for candidates seeking a distinctive quality of life alongside a meaningful leadership opportunity.
