  • Days 7 am - 3 pm & swings 3 pm - 11 pm — coverage needed daily
  • Option to cover combined shift — 7 am - 11 pm
  • Nights 11 pm - 7 am — remote call only, rarely called in
  • 10 - 15 patients per 8-hour shift on days and swings
  • 1 - 2 admits per night on average — often 0
  • Inpatient hospital setting
  • No procedures — hospitalists help run codes until EMS arrives
