With one of the largest populations in the U.S., the Golden State is poor in availability of physicians per capita and state funding, but it appears to be rich with ideas on how to possibly mitigate the doctor shortage. Here are just a few.

Are NPs the answer to the doctor shortage? While an intriguing question, I think we all know there is not a singular answer, but rather a multitude of factors over years that will help America adjust its supply and demand.

It's a question you might ask upon meeting the orthopedic specialist about to work on your shoulder. Rhetorically, even: "So, you're a doctor?" But the answer is not always yes.
