Dr. Johnny Shen was finishing his residency as a family practice physician, when he realized he didn’t want to jump into a permanent job. He worried that he wouldn’t find the right job, his work/life balance would be practically nonexistent, and he wouldn’t be happy.

Dr. Bassam Rimawi is an overachiever. He started medical school when he was just 15 years old and now he’s completing two simultaneous OB/GYN fellowships at a hospital in South Carolina. If that wasn’t enough, he continues to work locum tenens assignments on the side.

One of my favorite people I've had the privilege to get to know is a young, brilliant OB-GYN named Bassam Rimawi. I initially reached out to him about working locum tenens jobs while still in residency and recently caught up with him to find out how things are going.
