Description

A southern Alabama hospital is looking for full-time board-eligible/board-certified internists to join the hospital nocturnist team at the assistant/associate/professor level. They are seeking applicants with an understanding of the medical educational, clinical, and administrative issues for internal medicine residents and 1st through 4th year medical students at a small medical school. Successful applicants will assist with the residency program needs, inpatient general medicine services (both independently and with residents), and quality improvement programs. The nocturnist role will support the overnight admissions process as well as assist with early discharge planning. There are expectations for career advancement through the academic promotions process. You will enjoy living and working in this waterfront community, known as much for its music as its cuisine. Your proximity to the Gulf and the Mississippi River provides lots to explore, and you will enjoy true Southern living. There are streets lined with massive live oaks, and it offers a low cost of living and great beaches. The area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy water sports, camping, playing golf, hunting, fishing, boating, or cycling.
