August 24, 2014--CompHealth, the nation's oldest and largest locum tenens physician staffing company, launched a new website to make it easier for physicians and other healthcare providers to find a temporary or permanent job across the United States.
The new CompHealth website (www.comphealth.com) allows healthcare professionals in more than 100 medical specialties to easily search jobs and match their skills to the location, practice setting, and schedule they're looking for. The site also features tips and resources about interviewing, contract negotiation, credentialing, and more.
"Each physician and healthcare professional has unique qualities and strengths," says David Baldridge, a group president at CompHealth. "We work to find the best match between these providers and healthcare facilities, so together they can provide the best care to patients. Our new site is just another tool to help us make those matches possible."
An aging population, combined with millions of Americans newly insured under the Affordable Care Act, means that the country needs more healthcare providers than ever before. Unfortunately, the country is facing a physician shortage that will only get worse as nearly 250,000 physicians reach retirement age over the next 10 years.
Most locum tenens physicians work temporary assignments outside of their full-time work, providing care to additional patients. Locum tenens assignments also provide a way for late-career physicians to continue giving care beyond retirement age without maintaining their own full-time practice.
In 2013, CompHealth providers served more than 9.5 million patients in thousands of facilities across the country.
Earlier this year, CompHealth was named one of Inavero's 2014 Best of Staffing® winners for its work with both job seekers and employers.
CompHealth employs more than 800 people across three offices: Grand Rapids, Mich.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and its headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
