After nine years in private practice, Dr. Thomas O’Mara realized it was taking a toll on his life and his family. The stress of not just working as a pulmonologist but managing his own practice was almost more than his family could bear. After taking a much needed break to reassess his career, he found locum tenens.
“For nine years, the practice was very busy. I had what I thought was a good relationship with my [business] partner but then I realized maybe the relationship wasn’t as good as I thought. It was consuming my life with my wife, my life with my children and it wasn’t allowing me to live.”
